DAFA was hired to do permit documents for the adaptive use of an existing industrial warehouse in Miami’s Wynwood art district into a nightclub, with three different venue areas. The owner of the nightclub, legendary DJ Louis Puig (formerly the owner of SPACE), had a very specific vision - a nightclub to be a ‘factory of music’ where the aesthetic visuals of the space are ever-changing performance art, elaborate shows, and an advanced lighting system, all set within the context of a real factory.

The building’s original factory atmosphere was preserved intact, with many features remaining in-situ and the addition of new experiential details. Soaring steel trusses, heavily weathered brick walls, and mammoth industrial silos are preserved and highlighted. The addition of spatial subdivisions create myriad musical experiences for party-goers as they explore the club. New skylights were also added. In a world of all-night dancing that can continue late into the following day, allowing time to be easily forgotten, the addition of skylights give club-goers a visual reference to the outside world.
